About TAI Kenpo Karate/ Jujitsu
Designed by American Martial Arts Pioneer David German, TAI (Transitional Action Incorporated) Kenpo Karate /Jujitsu is a method of combining the techniques of Ed Parker’s American Kenpo Karate with Al Thomas’s Budojujitsu. There are also elements of White Tiger Kung Fu, Hsin Yi Kung Fu, Shotokan Karate, Chen Style Tai Chi, Escrima, and Tae Kwon Do.
At our school there are also elements of the Integrated Martial Arts System designed by Grand Master Brian Adams. The key objective of this art is to allow the student to be completely free and creative with martial arts technique. At The White Oak Martial Arts Center, we take this idea of technical freedom and combine it with the high level principles of Xu Shen Chuan.
The great thing about the TAI Martial Arts Systems is that it is “Mixed Martial Arts” before it was cool (dating back to the 1960′s). Taking all of the best parts out of punching, kicking, and grappling and allowing the student to blend these elements into something that is highly effective for self defense but also fits the individuals body and personality.
A TAI Martial Artist is a true decathlete of the martial arts. With the ability to mix and blend any different art, the student becomes not only a master of timing, transitions, and balance, but also a master of themselves. This builds creativity along with self confidence, perseverance, and a positive attitude.
