This is a typical week of training at the White Oak Martial Arts Center!
In this video you see students of all ages getting to do
- Bag Work for power, focus, and flexibility. It’s also a lot of fun and even a little theroputic to hit something that it’s okay to hit.
- Form Work for coordination, memorization, and discipline. Forms give us a library of knowledge in the martial arts as well as sharpening the mind and the body.
- Weapons Practice builds discipline, timing, focus, and footwork. Notice that we use all foam weapons for kids. This is a safe way for our students to build self confidence and good timing skills with focused, conscious movement.
- “Games” or Action Drills are the best way to teach live action focus, distance, coordination, real time problem solving, and movement. This is a fun, safe, confidence building way to practice full speed with nobody getting hurt and everybody learning something.
This is just one sampling of the fun and creative ways we use to teach the lessons of martial arts!
