For our students to earn another belt they must pass a physical fitness exam (push ups, etc), technique exam, and complete a task related to our topic of discussion. This cycle our topic has been Humility, which we are defining as “you don’t have the make somebody else feel bad to make yourself feel good.”
The task for Humility is to do 3 hours of community service. the purpose of which is to teach our students the value of helping others. Here is one of the projects that even made the paper!
Eve Bridger brought her 5-year-old daughter, Alana, and 2-year-old son, Roan, to Paws 4 Kids as a way of teaching them about standing up for those who are helpless and vulnerable.
“We’re animal lovers, and of course we’re concerned about child abuse, so the combination of these two organizations for one event made me want to come and support them,” Bridger said.
